Smooth Sailing

We have been very fortunate to have had calm seas and sunny skies for the most part. We definitely thought it would be rougher in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. We find it soothing, especially at night.

The view off our back balcony
The water is mesmerizing

We have been thoroughly enjoying the ship and all it has to offer. The pool and hot tub are wonderful, the food fabulous, and the music at night lots of fun. We have eaten at 2 different specialty restaurants so far. We are saving the steak one for last!

Tamarind restaurant – an Asian influence
Curry cocoanut chicken. Very good!

They had one evening where they showcased different decades (60’s, 70’s, and 80’s). We were fortunate enough to know the music from all eras, though not as much as some people on board!

Listening to bands play in the evening

Our cruise package came with a drink package, so we have been putting that to good use too, trying lots of different drinks!

Trying all the specials of the day
Another night, another band, another drink!

The weather is definitely getting cooler the closer we get to Portugal (and the farther north we go). What started out as sunny and 75° is now chilly and 57°. We have even gotten our jackets out a couple times. Still nice to sit on our balcony when the sun is out and watch the swells.

These are the moments we live for!

  3. I love the spring crossings!!! It’s like two vacations in one! First 5-6 days to relax, acclimate to the time zone and then hit ground running once you hit the Azores. It never ceases to amaze me just how calm the seas can be in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean! Nice room and balcony!!!! Enjoy every minute!!!
